Robert Douglas (Doug) Neely

Robert Douglas (Doug) Neely passed away Dec. 5, 2014 in California. He was born April 4, 1945 in Pomona. He is survived by his brother, Richard Neely, and sister, Mary Harris.

Doug arrived in Aspen in 1972 and was very active in the community. He was an excellent carpenter and foreman on many big local jobs. He was a member of BPOE and AVFD and held a private pilot’s license. He enjoyed skiing on both water and snow, river trips and riding his dirt bike with friends. His last job was driving a snow cat for ASC’s powder tours operation. Doug knew many people in town and we miss him.

There will be a gathering for Doug this Summer at the Elk’s Lodge. Date and time will be announced later.
