Robert (Bob) Ets-Hokin

Robert (Bob) Ets-Hokin, 81, passed away in Las Vegas Nevada on August 16, 2014 with his family by his side. Beloved father of Douglas, Karen, Tracy, and Russell, best friend to ex-wife Diane. Bob first came to Colorado in 1953 attending college at the University of Colorado. During Bobs time at the university he made several trips to Aspen and fell in love.

Twenty six years ago Bob retired to Aspen to pursue his passion for skiing and golf but he never stopped working. As an employee of Aspen Sports for over twenty years, Bob became an expert boot fitter for the company. Bob invented a tool to help buckle boots, the product was called, “The Buckle Up” and his nickname became, “Buckle up Bob”. Working in the ski industry afforded him plenty of time on the mountain and he skied into his late seventies. One year he became the ambassador on the mountain, a title he was very proud of.

In the summer months Bob pursued his second love and that was golf. Working at Aspen Valley Golf Course allowed plenty of time to swing the irons.

Bob loved life, his friends in Aspen, and especially his family, nothing was more important. He will be missed and never forgotten.
