Rhoda Yamamoto Ushida

On April 24, 2014, Rhoda Ushida, organist at the Aspen Community Church died. The Sunday after her death worship began in silence, and the congregation sang hymns without accompaniment. While silent and still, the organ and piano were covered with flowers. She leaves a legacy of love for fine classical and sacred music.

Rhoda is survived by a son Kimi Ushida in California, her mother Tokiko Ushida, and a brother and sister in Japan. She died of natural causes at the home of friends where she enjoyed painting and walking on the hillside.
