Robert Carl Bergman passed away unexpectedly while vacationing with his family in Cozumel, Mexico. He was born in Denver, CO and moved to Aspen at the age of 5 months. He graduated from Aspen High School in 1981 and the University of Wyoming in 1986 with a mechanical engineering degree. He married his college sweetheart Rosemary Hollenbaugh on November 29, 1986, at First Baptist Church in Aspen.
Bob & Rose raised their boys, Justin and Dan, and Rose’s niece Melissa in Conifer, CO. His three favorite activities were skiing, sailing and scuba diving which he loved doing with his whole family. He also loved to repair and improve small equipment, cars and houses, which he enthusiastically taught both boys. You may remember him on the calliope in Aspen parades along with his dad and boys. He was active in his church and his relationship with the Lord was very important to him. He retired early from his job with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission to be able to spend time with his family. He loved being a grandpa to Melissa and Tom’s daughters Samatha and Rachel.
He was predeceased by his father, Carl Bergman. He is survived by his mother Catherine Bergman, his wife of 38 years Rosemary Bergman, sons Justin Bergman (Tamara), Daniel Bergman, niece (raised as his daughter) Melissa (Tom) Condas, and his sister Linda (Bob) Brining and numerous beloved family members.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2pm at Aspen Ridge Church, 27154 N Turkey Creek Road, Evergreen, CO 80439.
Memorial gifts can be made in his name to Mercy Ships or K-Love Christian Radio.
