Riley Jo-Anne Pond was born on April 2, 1953, in Boston Massachusetts and moved to Heaven on June 17, 2025 at the age of 72 years.
She is preceded by her parents, John Grant and Elinore Frances (Dolan) Pond, brother, John Pond, foster parents, Ralph and Marian Melville.
She is survived by her family and caregivers at Uptown Care Center in Denver, Colorado – her home of the past 10 years; son, Joseph Magelssen, his wife Catherine and their children (her grandchildren) Laila, Azle, Ellis, Curren, Felicity, and Talulah; her foster siblings Julie, Frank, Nancy, Susan, Karen, Craig and Kai; and many nieces and nephews of 2 generations.
Riley is a poet and artist with the gift of a beautiful voice. She found her hope and inspiration every day in her Lord. A quote from her writings, “Faithful, eternal is God’s love.” She is witty with words and joyful in spirit. Her wisdom shared with me a few days before her passing is great advice from a deep thinker, “Put your best foot forward.”
