Mary Louise Moran loved life and wanted to live to be 100. she fell a bit short, passing away at age 90. Mary was born in Kokomo, Indiana on June 16, 1934 to Lee and Hortense Chambers. She attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mary moved to Aspen in 1962 with her young son Steve and went to work for the City of Aspen. She met her husband -to-be, James T. Moran, marrying in 1974. They eventually moved into their house on Spruce Street. with a magnificent view of Aspen Mountain.

Mary loved to cook and entertain. She was renowned for her parties and Holiday dinners. Mary was an accomplished seamstress and could make anything from a napkin to a wedding dress. She was past-President of B.O.L.D which offered skiing and other outdoor activities for the blind and visually impaired. Mary skied, played tennis, golf and bridge. Mary loved to garden, raising flowers, vegetables, and berries. feeding family and friends, as well as president deer and birds equally. She had a soft spot for animals, adopting many dogs and cats, too numerous to list. Mary opened her house to many residents, music students, and international visitors. She will be remembered as a smart, strong willed, and talented woman of Aspen.

Mary is survived by he son Dr Steven Wenzel (Diane), sister Donna Trauffer, grandsons Aaron and Sean Wenzel, and Bella, her beloved one-eyed cat. She was predeceased by her husband James Moran, her son Charlie, and her brother Charlie Chambers. No services are planned at this time.
