Obituary: Margaret Lewis Smith

Margaret “Peggy” Lewis Smith, 91, of Loveland passed away on May 17, 2013. Peggy was born on October 26, 1921 in Mineola, NY to Lloyd R. and Helen (Lewis) McDonald. She graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY in May 1943. Peggy married Charles F. Smith, Jr. of Glen Head, NY on July 23, 1943. They lived on Long Island until 1957, moving to Utah, then Colorado. Peggy worked in Aspen, where she and her husband owned and operated a Guest Ranch in Snowmass. Peggy also worked in Real Estate in Carbondale. After retiring in 1978, they spent winters in Arizona and they moved to Loveland in 1995. She enjoyed her family, friends, golf, traveling and fishing. Peggy is survived by her husband, Charles; son Charles “Mac” Smith; daughters Lee Margaret Crow and Nina Caroline Freda; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date.
