Luther Daniel Oas, (Daniel) 84, passed away in his sleep peacefully at his home in Delta, Colorado on January 25, 2025.

Daniel was born May 23, 1940, to Rev. Peter Carlot Oas and Rose Ada Sundheim in Hitterdal, Minnesota. He grew up in a scholarly, vibrant home with his 6 siblings. He studied at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and went on to serve honorably in the US Army where his mechanical aptitude was put to use developing missile technology.

Daniel was a skilled pilot working for several years as a crop duster in Minnesota. An entrepreneur, he managed a chain of car washes in the Midwest where he created innovative designs. He eventually moved to Aspen where he worked as a master electrician for decades. He had a colorful, adventurous life and his travels spanned the globe. He held a deep affinity for sailing, cigars, fine food, and was a lifelong lover of Opera.

He is survived by his elder sister and two older brothers, two grown sons and two grandsons. His ashes will be released over Crystal Lake in Minnesota to join the remains of his twin brother Luke Donald Oas who passed away in 1983.
