Obituary: Josephine (Zelnick) Arbaney

Josephine Arbaney, 87 passed away June 11, 2013 at Grace Health Care Nursing Home in Glenwood Springs where she had recently moved to from Basalt. She was born in Aspen on June 22, 1925 to Louis and Mary Zelnick. She moved to a farm in Basalt in 1947 when she and Frederick (Bus) Arbaney were married. She and Bus shared a wonderful life in the old farmhouse raising their two boys Dan and Ron. She enjoyed gardening and tended a huge vegetable garden and put in several flower gardens with perenials which still grow on the property. She was a wonderful mother, and a great cook. She enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, gambling in Las Vegas, playing the organ and dancing with Bus. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday June 15, 9AM at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs with Father Cliff McMillan officiating. There will be a visitation on Fri June 14 from 5PM to 9PM and a Rosary at 7 PM at Farnum Holt Chapel. Interment will be after mass at the Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs and a reception will follow at St. Stephens Church. She is survived by her sons Dan (wife Debbie) Arbaney of El Jebel and Ron (wife Susie) Arbaney of Basalt; brother Stan Zelnick of Carbondale, her Grandsons Mike, Buster (Heather), and Luke Arbaney and Great-Granddaughters Analise and Cameron Arbaney. She was preceded in death by her husband Bus Arbaney, her parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.
