Nancy Ann Soderman

January 16th, 1950 — January 30th, 2019

It is with great sadness that our beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, sister and friend Nancy passed away suddenly on January 30th, 2019. Born in Concord, MA to Robert and Ruth Soderman, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she met her first husband. They moved to Carmel Valley, CA and began raising their two sons. In the late 1970’s, she moved back to where she felt her heart belonged in the Roaring Fork Valley.

In order to be closer to her mother and father, she moved back to California and raised her two sons in the Bay Area for more than two decades. Her lifelong passion for horses eventually brought her to meeting her soulmate and husband of 27 years, Thomas Richey. It was at this time in her life she enjoyed working at the Grant Ranch, caring for her father and his wife, traveling, all while immersed in an equestrian lifestyle.

After the passing of her father in 2006, they moved back to Colorado in order to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. After living briefly in Montrose, they finally settled in New Castle, where they resided since 2010. It was here that in addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed volunteering and the close community at the Senior Center and the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs.

Nancy is survived by husband, Thomas Richey; two children, Benjamin and Andrew de Sugny; four grandchildren, Sydney, Riley, Dylan and Makayla de Sugny; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Soderman.
