Michael Solheim

Michael Solheim, 79, passed away suddenly Saturday in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born and raised in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, the fun-loving Michael followed his passion for downhill skiing to Aspen, Colorado, where he lived happily among friends for more than 60 years. He was the devoted father of Evan (Thomas) Blondin and Lauren Skye and the loving companion of Barbara Koval. He was the dearest brother of David (Carole) Solheim of Chicago, Ann (the late Joseph) Schiele of Arlington Heights and Mary (Charles) Maegdlin of Arlington Heights. He was the cherished uncle and great uncle to dozens of nieces and nephews and beloved son of the late Spencer and Celestine (Mahoney) Solheim. A memorial service will be held in Aspen at a later date.
