John Hartford Sallee

John Hartford Sallee born November 20, 1954 passed away Sunday March 5, 2017. John was a soft hearted sentimental man with a wild and stubborn soul. He cried often at whatever pulled his heart strings. John loved connecting with people, friends and strangers alike. He had an uncanny connection with dogs, becoming best friends instantly. John’s adventures started at a young age, working on the rails and wrangling horses in British Columbia. His adventures continued when he met Kelly Bookmyer, his love, his life for over 40 years. Together they hitchhiked across Canada, lived in a tipi, a cabin on Aspen Mt., traveled to Europe and Hawaii finally settling in Snowmass Village, CO. They skied, windsurfed, hunted and fished together. It fueled his passion. John is survived by his wife Kelly of 38 years, his mother Elizabeth and sister Christine of Santa Fe, N.M., and sister Kathy of Inverness, Fla. John’s father William and sister Debbie preceded him in death. He is survived by many buddy-in-laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and too many friends to count. Please join us at Mt. Bayou in Snowmass Village, CO. April 2, 4 pm or May 26 in White Salmon, Washington to celebrate John’s life. A John Sallee memorial account has been established at Alpine Bank, Snowmass Village, CO. 81615.

Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 5756 Snowmass Village, CO. 1615
