Joanne Claire Tibma

Joanne Claire Tibma, 84 of Aspen and Scottsdale passed away December 27, 2013. Born in Chicago on February 23, 1929 to parents John and Clare Gillen. She is survived by her brother Michael and sons Peter, Dan and Paul.

Joanne lived most of her adult life in Aspen and later split her time between Aspen and Scottsdale. She loved Aspen and ran the Hotel Jerome for a number of years. Joanne was an avid traveler and visited most every country on earth. Each trip was preceded by reading and study of the history and culture. She filled her homes with memories of those trips.

She spent many wonderful summers exploring and camping with her sons. Her great passion was reading and enjoying the outdoors.

A celebration of her life will be held at the outdoors patio of the Hotel Jerome August 9th 2:30 to 5:00.
