Joan Hairabedian

September 24th, 1938 — January 30th, 2016

Joan Hairabedian was born Joan Diane Anderson in Chicago, IL in 1938 to her parents Fremont and Dolores Anderson. After College, Joan worked as a graphic designer in the Big Apple. It was there she met Varoujan Hairabedian, a newly minted architect working for a Manhattan firm. They married and moved to Aspen Colorado where they would raise their 3 children. She was the eternal host and an amazing cook.

All who knew Joan would say that she was a kind, generous, loving person; intellectually curious and sometimes silly. To her family she was a font of strength, selflessness, patience and humor. To say she will be missed is an understatement.

She passed at the age of 77 on January 30th in her own home after a two year battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Varouj Hairabedian; her three kids: Analise Dubner, Adrine Writer and Raffi Hairabedian, and 7 grandchildren.

Wherever she finds herself next, it will be a place where she will be made to feel as loved and important as she made her family feel every single day. We love you and will miss you dearly.
