Daniel M. Collins
CARBONDALE, CO — Daniel M. Collins, 61, of Carbondale, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at University Hospital in Denver, CO. Dan was born September 23, 1954 in Rockford, IL, the son of William E. Collins and Z. Bernice (Mitzi) Collins. Dan graduated from West High School in Rockford and went to Colorado Mountain College in Leadville. He owned and operated Collins Plumbing in Carbondale for about 30 years until his death. In addition to spending time with his wife, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, his sister and brothers. Dan enjoyed rafting, skiing, professional music shows, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his faithful dog Mongo. He is survived by his wife, Mina Collins, daughters Michelle Elder and Kristin Wilson, 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, brothers Bill, Mike and Rick Collins, his (favorite) sister, Beth Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
