YouthZone helps the whole family
Dear Editor:
On the evening of May 22, 16 restaurants from Aspen to Carbondale generously participated in a new off-season event, YouthZone Family Night Out, designed to raise money and a little awareness about YouthZone. For donating 10 percent of their dinner proceeds, the following restaurants deserve our sincere appreciation: Boogie’s Diner, Jimmy’s, Kenichi, Little Annie’s, Taster’s Pizza, Cafe Bernard, El Horizonte, Tempranillo, Blue Creek Grill, Zheng, Crave, Dos Gringos, Ella, Phat Thai, Six89 and White House Pizza.
YouthZone is a nationally acclaimed youth and family services nonprofit dedicated for over 30 years to helping communities and families raise happy, responsible young people. As the recently appointed upvalley division manager of YouthZone, I have discovered over the last 10 months that not enough upvalley people know who we are and what we do for valleywide families.
YouthZone has been firmly anchored in Glenwood Springs since its inception in 1976; however, our renowned programs extend from Aspen to Parachute. Offering a wide range of services, including court services, youth coaching, parent coaching, parenting workshops, drug and alcohol prevention, family counseling, restorative justice, mediation and conflict resolution, YouthZone has been recognized nationally as a leader in our unique community-safety-net services.
To the restaurants who have made a pledge to helping YouthZone serve our community, we say thank you. To those interested in learning more about our programs and services, I encourage you to visit online at http://www.youthzone.com or call us at 945-9300.
