Your senses are right

Dear Editor:

“Don’t let your short memory fool you” (letters, Feb. 5), asks, “Who do you believe?”

Those that think humans cause global warming generally minimize or discount the sun’s contribution, essentially saying our star doesn’t change it’s output ” despite the fact that 95 percent of earth’s temperature change for the last 150 years correlates with solar output, not with carbon dioxide levels.

Overall average earth temperatures should increase every year, per the human caused theorist. But average temperatures have not increased for the last 10 years (per satellite data). Just consider, if the sun doesn’t change, as they claim, and we keep putting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, please explain to me what has caused the flattening and even 0.4-degree decrease in global temperatures for the last 10 years (since the 1998 El Nino)?

Don’t become a global warming cultist by ignoring your own senses. They are right on.

Mike Mason
