Young for county commissioner

Dear Editor:

I have known John Young, candidate for Pitkin County commissioner, as a friend and business partner for over 20 years. John and his wife, Linda Vieira, have consistently been steadfast, hardworking, honest and caring individuals.

These are the traits I would expect from any public servant, in addition to resort business experience and knowledge of local government operations.

John possesses both – he has worked in the resort industry and has a consulting business involved in the development of employee housing in many resort communities. John has been employed by Pitkin County as a trails director, worked on roads and bridges, served as the town manager of Snowmass Village and currently serves on the Basalt fire board.

There is no question in my mind that John is qualified and will make an excellent county commissioner. I urge you to vote for him on June 26 in the Pitkin County primary election.
