More than 50 yogis joined Jayne Gottlieb’s Monday morning mountaintop class. The donation-based class attracted multiple generations and pooches; all are welcome at the only 11,000-foot-above-sea-level yoga class in the area.

The summer yoga series is offered Monday through Friday, from June 19 through Sept. 1, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. There is a $20 suggested donation, with half of the proceeds going toward the Caring for Community Fund.

Kalle Thompson brought her husband and three children to experience the cooler air and mind-body activity.

“We live in Washington, D.C. and came out to visit my dad who lives here,” she said. “We’re always looking for new, outdoor activities, and my dad found this and suggested it. He uses Aspen Concierge, and they recommended it.”

Along with Thompson were two chocolate Pomeranians, a breath of cooler air and a new experience.

Jayne Gottlieb, owner of Shakti Yoga, guided the crowd of both locals and visitors through a morning rhythm of basic yoga, applicable for most ages and abilities.
