Yoga not necessary

Why does it have to be yoga? (I do yoga at the Snowmass Club.) There are other programs to calm our over-stressed school kids.

I applaud the Aspen School Board?s recognition that children flourish educationally when they feel good physically and emotionally. I applaud that the school board wants to offer additional programming to reach this goal.

Why not revamp and expand gym and outdoor recess to include stretching and breathing? How about more emphasis on nutrition and appropriate eating habits?

I attended the excellent Children?s Health Symposium presented by the Aspen Center for New Medicine and was not impressed with Tara Guber?s presentation of yoga in the schools.

It seems that those that are arguing yoga are more concerned about issues than child development.
