Yoga for a cause
August 18, 2012
The Shakti Foundation and the Aspen Yoga Society are happy again to host Yoga in Action Day. This special event will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday in Paepcke Park. This morning is such a wonderful valleywide celebration of yoga and community, and we hope you will plan to attend.
We are honored to have Aaron King and Ashley Turner teaching for us and Jan Garrett and JD Martin providing live music. The morning will be dedicated to raising awareness for Off The Mat and Into the World and its mission to eradicate sex trafficking and also the Cambodian Children’s Fund.
Last year, the profits from Yoga in Action Day allowed us to sponsor a child from the orphanage. This year, one of the little girls from Cambodia is doing an Outward Bound program in Marble.
Our organizations are all about taking yoga practice off the mat and making a difference in the world. There will be different nonprofits there. You will have the chance to register to vote and partake in the activities offered by AREDay. This will truly be a morning of celebration with music and fun for all. Please come out, bring a friend and see what it’s all about. We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
Thanks to our great community for supporting this amazing event.
