Yes on services, no on unnecessary buildings

Dear Editor:The city of Aspen is asking voters to approve spending almost $1 million to cover the recycling center containers, but there is not enough money (according to the city) to fund many of the requests for our nonprofits.I am voting No on 2C to rezone our Rio Grande Park to allow construction of two new buildings and voting Yes on 1A for the Healthy Community Fund, which needs $1.5 million dollars for important human service and nonprofit groups. To me, it is very important to fund senior programs, hospice care, at-risk kids programs, mental health counseling, fund local conservation groups, abused woman and disabled programs, rather than spending a million dollars on unnecessary buildings. The recycling containers are covered already!Betty BuckleyAspen
