X Games dos and don’ts

ESPN Winter X Games VIII begins today at Buttermilk Mountain.

All events over the next five days are free to the public.

There is no parking at Buttermilk or the Inn at Aspen. Shuttles will be running to the mountain continuously from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Aspen and the Cozy Point parking lot at the intersection of Brush Creek Road and Highway 82.

For public transportation information, call the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority at 925-8484.

The Winter X Games are a nonsmoking, alcohol-free event. The following items are also not allowed at the X Games: weapons, coolers, pets, signs attached to poles or sticks, chairs, large umbrellas, cans or glass containers.

People’s bags are subject to search at anytime at the games, in the parking lots or on the shuttles.

ESPN management also reminds people that all events are held outside, so appropriate attire is highly recommended.
