Writing and rafting " a journey for women

The Aspen Writers’ Foundation is offering “River Writing Journey for Women,” a seven-day custom river rafting and creative writing trip, Aug. 27 to Sept. 2.

The trip will go through Cataract Canyon on the Colorado River, and is open to female writers of all genres, with no experience necessary. Page Lambert, author of “In Search of Kinship” and “Shifting Stars,” will teach the class. Sheri Griffith Expeditions will guide the trip, which includes calm water and Class III-IV rapids.

Tuition for the journey is $1,499, and includes transportation from Moab to the river launch, guides, rafts, tents, sleeping pads and bags, all meals, and creative writing instruction. Participants can save $100 by signing up with a friend.
