World Cup volunteer rally Tuesday
A volunteer rally for the 2015 Audi FIS Ski World Cup at the Nature Valley Aspen Winternational is set for 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Limelight Hotel.
The rally serves as a place for residents to gather and learn about the women’s World Cup races, ask questions, as well as sign-up for various on-and-off hill volunteer roles. Light food and drinks will be provided.
At the end of each race day, event organizers will host a special social gathering with complimentary beverages. In addition, all volunteers who work more than 12 hours will receive a custom Helly Hansen Winternational jacket and will be invited to a volunteer thank-you party that will include dinner and drinks following the races.
Volunteers who help with the World Cup races will also have first priority for volunteer roles at the 2017 World Cup Finals.
The 2015 Audi FIS Ski World Cup at the Nature Valley Aspen Winternational will be held Nov. 28 and 29 in both the giant slalom and slalom technical disciplines. Spectators can watch from he base of Lift 1A on Aspen Mountain.

Aspen City Council puts brakes on Old Powerhouse Preservation Project
With many lingering questions still surrounding the fate of Aspen’s historic Old Powerhouse, City Council decided during Monday’s work session to hold off on providing staff direction on moving the preservation project forward until more information can be presented.
