World Cup downhill postponed
December 7, 2007
ASPEN ” The World Cup women’s downhill race planned today has been rescheduled for Saturday because of poor visibility.
Snow and fog made conditions too dangerous for the racers, according to Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle. The course remained in good shape despite nearly 17 inches of snow that have fallen at the top of Aspen Mountain over the last 24 hours, he said.
International Ski Federation (FIS) officials decided to hold the downhill instead of the super G race on Saturday. The downhill is scheduled to start at 10:45 a.m., Hanle said.
The slalom will remain on schedule for Sunday. The super G race won’t be held in Aspen.
