Aspen CO Colorado

ASPEN – Forestry work along Smuggler Mountain Road and trails will affect travel in the area beginning Oct. 4. According to a statement from the city of Aspen, tree cuts in select sections of the Smuggler Mountain Open Space will cause delays along the road and trail when equipment is operating or in transit.

This forestry work is being done in accordance with the Smuggler Mountain Forest Management Plan and is designed to promote forest health, improve wildlife habitat and reduce wildfire fuel loading. Work is designed to cause as few delays as possible.
