Work on budget will continue
October 31, 2002
We understand that some people may object to the emphasis in the ballot on Health and Human Services. We urge you to recognize that the tax is necessary today for the short-term requirements of our community.
At the same time, we believe that the community needs to look at the basic strategic questions relating to the funding and expenditures of the county. Such a long-term study has been requested by members of the board of county commissioners.
We of the FAB are undertaking such a study. We expect to present our initial strategic report in about six months. We hope to have time to discuss the report and to act strategically as a community in the November 2003 election.
