Woody Creek man found dead

WOODY CREEK ” A Woody Creek man was found dead Sunday morning at a Lower River Road residence, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities do not believe Stephen Lockwood Main’s death was suspicious in nature, though it is under investigation by the county coroner’s office.

Paramedics with Basalt Ambulance pronounced the man dead at the scene. Paramedics and county sheriff’s deputies were en route to the home when they received word that Lockwood Main appeared to have died.

The sheriff’s office received a call at about 9 a.m. regarding a 66-year-old man who was unconscious and not breathing. The call came from a Lower River Road residence.
