I would like to thank the dedicated women who meet four times a year to donate money to one of our valley’s charities. This group is called 100+ Women Who Care, and it’s a fantastic, easy and quick way to be involved in our community. The group meets for only one hour, when they hear representatives of different nonprofits speak. The women commit to donating $100 at each meeting, or you can form a team of two and donate $50 or a team of four and donate $25. Since the group meets only four times a year, the total commitment is $400 annually as an individual or team. At the end of the meeting, the women vote on the organization they feel most deserves their donation.
Aspen Youth Center recently was the chosen organization, and we received more than $3,300, which was a huge help this summer, when we were averaging more than 85 kids per day! The money allowed us to buy some much-needed program supplies and supported more than 1,000 youth who depend on us.
I joined 100+ Women Who Care as part of a team. It has turned into a girls’ night out for us and has become such a fun way to spend our evening and then go out to dinner with our friends. The organization is looking for more women in the valley to join. If you are interested, please come to the next meeting at the Limelight Lodge from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Better yet, grab your friends to come with you!
