Wonderful for ‘Wonderland’
Dear Editor:The Danse Arts Theatre Company and the Glenwood Dance Academy would like to say thank you to all the wonderful people who staff the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. When we were informed some months ago that we would not be allowed to perform in the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium this year, we were at first unsure if we would be able to find a venue that would work for us.After visiting with the staff at the Wheeler, our concerns were completely eliminated. We were so pleased with their helpful attitude, their professionalism and the way they made us feel so welcome. Our performance of “Alice in Our Wonderland” was a great success, and we owe much of that to the Wheeler staff. We also want to thank all of our dancers, performers, musicians, our choreographers, the Jr. Wahines Polynesian dance troupe, our lighting guru Loren Wilder of Wilder Design and Production, our back stage volunteers, and, of course, the ever supportive parents of our dance academy students. We had hoped for a somewhat larger attendance, particularly by the local residents of Aspen, but the ones that did come were very complimentary and loved the show.We had also hoped for a little event coverage by the local press. We provided complimentary tickets for all, but the only one to attend was our friend Jeannie Walla from TV Aspen. If anyone is interested in what she thought of the show, I am sure she would be glad to fill you in.Again, thanks to all who made the show such a positive experience. And oh yes, we will be back.Robert L. AndersonDanse Arts Theatre CompanyGlenwood Springs
