Woman assaulted in Aspen Saturday

Aspen Times Staff Report

Police arelooking for a man who reportedly attempted to sexually assault a woman near Durant and Original streets Saturday night.

The woman told police that around 8 p.m. she was grabbed by a stranger and knocked down.

According to the report, the assailant is a while male in his early to mid 30s with straight, dark, average length hair. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a soft brown leather jacket at the time of the incident.

Police are asking for any information that may help them find the suspect.

“Perhaps that night someone didn’t think it was important, but we’re hoping that after the fact someone might come forward with additional information,” said Sgt. Leon Murray.

“We also released some information in hopes that people will keep in mind that even in a relatively safe place like Aspen, you should always be aware and cautious of your surroundings.”
