Wolf ready to lead as Eagle sheriff

Dear Editor:

Charles Wolf is the right choice for Eagle County sheriff.

As nearly 20-year residents of Ruidoso, N.M., a beautiful mountain community much like your own, we’ve had the pleasure of knowing Charles during his years of law enforcement service as not only a police officer and public servant, but as a student, father, community activist, and friend.

During Cheri’s years with Eastern New Mexico University, she observed Charles’ dedication to completing his degree in Police Science while working full-time and balancing family life. His completion of his Police Science degree was a testament to Charles’ perseverance toward, and commitment to, his continuing education in law enforcement. As an EMT and ED nurse, Chris considered Charles a professional and integral member of the emergency response team. In addition to serving as a police officer, Charles also completed training as an EMT. He would frequently respond in emergencies to provide on-scene assistance and offer a continuum of support from the field to the hospital.

Our experience of Charles as a police officer included his personal support of our family in times of stress or crisis. Charles’ services were of benefit to our family on more than one occasion when we found ourselves frightened, uncomfortable or concerned: His help extended even to the four-legged furry members of our family! Charles genuinely cares about the people and families he serves.

We were pleased to work with Charles on community activities such as Santa Cops. We would frequently bump into Charles as he worked with young people in our schools, and we’d often see him patrolling through town on his mountain bike. We know Charles personally as a loving and committed family man and father, proud and committed to serve the people of the communities in which he lives and calls home.

Although we’re newly introduced to your lovely mountain community, we can’t help but feel that your needs and expectations for yourselves and your families are much like our own. Charles Wolf is an excellent choice for sheriff. He’s a very fine law enforcement officer. He’s a very good man.
