Windstar remembers John Denver this Sunday

Dear Editor:

Nobody loves my brother John Denver’s music more than I do. He was a gifted singer-songwriter and gone too soon. But, he was more than that. His music was a way for him to express his love for this planet and all mankind, for feeding the hungry and helping the impoverished, for exploring space and stewarding ocean conservation. His music was a catalyst that led to the creation of the Windstar Foundation in Old Snowmass.

He co-founded Windstar 35 years ago to inspire and empower children and adults to create responsible choices through community and global action for a healthy and sustainable environment, and the job’s not done!

That which affects any one of us, affects us all.

Please join me, along with a host of friends and supporters, on Sunday to celebrate the land and to focus on the fact that we are responsible for the quality of life on this planet.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Windstar Conservancy in Old Snowmass, there will be speakers, music, food and historic tours of the land that will inspire you to take action, and most importantly, will give you useful tools to take away so we can all make a difference in our everyday lives.
