Will act for shelter

Dear Editor:

All the world’s a stage, but actors still need somewhere to sleep!

Can you help an actor or a tech director break a leg this summer? As a nonprofit, Theatre Aspen currently is looking for reasonably priced rented housing this summer for members of our professional company ” both actors and technical crew. We’re looking at housing in the Aspen area for technical staff and because of union rules, we must house our guest actors within close proximity to our theater tent in Rio Grande Park … no small feat, but one that helps us attract the very best talent to complement the superb local talent we feature in professional summer productions.

This year’s productions will include Little Shop of Horrors. Having already found housing for Audrey II, the giant man-eating plant, you might think housing the rest of the cast would be easy. But we still are in desperate need of accommodations ” anything from an idle ADU or condo unit, to a whole house, would be hugely appreciated.

There’s no business like show business, but there’s no show business in Aspen without a place to sleep. If you have space available or if you know of anyone who might, please call Peggy Burke at 925-9313 ext. 2 for details.
