Why the rush?

Dear Editor:

Regarding the Art Museum, I still do not understand all the rush to sell public property to a private business. Lots of promises are being made by the business and lots of assumptions by the populace, but there remain many unanswered questions. Sure, a museum is a nice amenity for the city, but we already have one. Community space is available now, but no guarantees of public access to the proposed space are being offered by anyone.

In short, there are too many issues to deal with in too short a time. The proposal may indeed work out to make sense some day, but to rush headlong to approve such a potential white elephant without answers to so many questions is asking for major trouble.
