Why the fuss about bags?
Dear Editor:
I’m not one to normally write letters but I really don’t understand the opposition to a plastic bag fee in Aspen, Colorado!
I live on the Oregon coast in the summertime, where the average household income is half of what it is here. They have no problem supporting a statewide plastic bag ban, let alone a 3-cent fee!
People of Aspen have the means to be setting precedents for this sort of thing. I actually laugh out loud when I read the letters opposing any sort of initiative. It can’t be about money, hello 10-percent sales tax; it seems more like laziness. Thanks for letting me vent!
