Why no vote?
Aspen Times writer
Dear Editor:
The city of Aspen put the potential Mother Lode purchase to a community vote – it was voted down. Why is the proposed Visitors Center at Main and Galena, which is spending over a million in taxpayers’ money, not being put to a vote?
Also, wasn’t the Visitors Center on Main Street prior to moving to its current location? I just don’t see the point in spending all this money to move the center one block. The Aspen City Council is voting on this project Monday, April 12; the public is welcome to come and voice an opinion.
