Why encroach on wildlife?

Dear Editor:

Jim Duke, thank you for your well-thought-out and intelligently written letter regarding the wildlife in our valley.

I hope everyone who cares about this ongoing concern reads every single word you wrote. Why there is not one scientist or biology expert on the open space and trails board is another question I would dare to ask. The management decisions of these lands in question should not be left to politicians, even with the best intentions. If I am in error of the qualifications, please tell me.

One more comment: I have never understood why this is such a humongous debate ” what is the real motivation for encroaching on pristine open areas with thriving wildlife and flora?
