Wheeler wonderfulness

Dear Editor:

After more than three decades of residing in our fantastic community, I was treated to a New Year’s extravaganza at the Wheeler Opera House.

I purchased tickets early, surprised that front-row center still existed for the David Bromberg quartet or sextet that appeared. The stage was filled with many instruments and special guests, including locals John Oates and Johnny Excellence on drums.

The Wheeler was filled with high energy and excitement. We were pleasantly treated with an unexpected open bar and a later champagne toast. The addition of tasty treats created by P.J. and his friendly staff from Back Door Catering was awesome.

The fireworks shows were spectacular and the concert fantastic for those in attendance. The talented musicians played a rocking, bluesy, ad-libbed adventurous evening. A huge thumps-up to the Wheeler staff associated with the concert production. A thank-you also for the souvenir guitar pick thrown in my direction.
