We’re all friends here

Dear Editor:Recently, I had the pleasure of joining the Roaring Fork High School girl’s tennis team due to the fact that the high school I attend doesn’t have a tennis team. At first, I had misgivings of joining a team of a rival school. However, the transition became very quick and easy, due to the coaches and the teammates acceptance. Everyone welcomed me and made me part of the team. This experience has showed me that even though we all come from different schools, we can blend together as a community. I encourage anybody whose school does not offer the sport of their choice to not be afraid to join a team from another school. I appreciate the time and patience that the coaches, Doug Ellis and Tyson Young had for all the girls, and all the encouraging words that the girls gave to me. Thanks again Doug, Tyson and all the girls for a great season.Mariah PattersonBasalt High School
