Weekly Journal for the week of November 7

I am writing this particular journal 2 weeks before the American elections and predict that Bush will get in by a nose.

I have never wanted to be wrong so much, but portents favor him slightly.

As well the recent election in Australia went to the party that follows Bush’s policy in Iraq and it got back in with an even greater majority as the majority of Australians voted with their wallet instead of their heads, hearts and souls… again.

Either way we are clearly in for a rough 4 years.

If Kerry did make it, he has an unholy mess to clean up and may not have the numbers in congress or the Senate to do it. Yikes.

If Bush bushwhacked the elections again the first result is that the world will not see his first administration as a wrinkle in the American fabric, but as a true sentiment of America and will be even more anti–America than ever.

Before the election the New York Times slammed the Bush administration on many fronts but failed to say what I see as the obvious.

We are well and truly in the era of the witch-hunt, the religious fanatics, the one-eyed simpletons who think that the only answer is power, force and death and destruction… and that is the Bushies, not the terrorists.

Or more to the point a great many people in the world see the Bushies as the real terrorists, including several high-level ex-CIA officials on a History Channel documentary.

It took nearly 30 years for people to finally admit that under the madness and badness of Nixon/Kissingass America was truly, in every legal and moral sense of the term, a rogue state.

I suggest that we are there yet again.

If Bush still occupies the White House there will be a draft surer than the Pope is a man and watch America burst into flames. It is going to be 1970 all over again.

What can we learn and do? What is the Universal plan / message here?

Astrologically we have Pluto (death and regeneration, power, obsession, fanaticism) in Sagittarius (religion, philosophy, travel) and that combo has brought us death reigning from the skies against travelers for religious reasons and death reigning from the skies to foreigners (Iraqis) for philosophical reasons.

It has brought us Moslem and Christian fanaticism as exemplified by Osama and George W.

I suspect that all of this will get a lot worse before it gets better, and that the payoff will be that people will get thoroughly sick of the influence of religion in politics, just as the Founding Fathers were, and will demand a true separation of church and state.

Lets hope so!
