Weekly Journal for the week of June 20

I have to admit that there is a very large part of me that wants to go hide in Bali, or Fiji, or some other tropical island with great food, friendly people and where it is easy to avoid the madness of the world.

Just knowing that I can gives me some more juice to stay and to keep participating in my small way to help end the craziness that is enveloping the world.

I mean, it just goes on and on and seemingly bright people keep perpetuating it in the most obvious and disgusting ways. One example… Bush meets with Blair and they issue a joint communique´ that Yes Indeedy they are handing over power to Iraq in a few weeks and from that moment Iraq will again be a Sovereign State running its own affairs.

Back in Old Blighty the media presses Blair and he reiterates that yes, that also means that the new interim Iraqi government will decide if and where and when Coalition Forces will stay and how and where they will or will not be active in military matters because Iraq will be in charge of its own affairs. Wow. Cool! Very clear.

Then the American media presses Colon Power on the same question and instead of the same steadfast and clear response he prevaricates to the degree that it is obvious that America has absolutely NO intention of giving Iraq any real power or decision making capacity under the guise of being a Real and Free Country. Ha.

Will it never end? The lies, the hypocrisy, the sheer madness of it all.

Then we have ex-General Zinni of the United States of America, a hero and military genius by anyone’s standards teaming up with “Hunt For Red October” gung-ho John Wayne style American author Tom Clancy and they write a book together where they call Bush A LIAR and far worse. Whoa baby. Here we have two seriously conservative men slamming Bush and his administration for incompetence, lies and far worse. Maybe there is hope yet… hope that a la Vietnam things are SO out of control, so insane, that even the right wingers have had enough and are turning against the nuts in power. Cross your fingers folks and vote for… ANYONE ELSE BUT BUSH!
