Weekly Journal for the week of January 9

Believe it or Not… it is true…

The new appointee to replace Ashcroft as Attorney General apparently was part of giving permission and legal approval for the torture in Abu Graid prison.

So when he was nominated the Justice Department, in anticipation of a heated Congressional Hearing on his appointment, just CHANGED its definition of TORTURE!!!

So now, he did NOT approve torture, because what he approved is no longer called torture by the Justice Department. Can you believe it?

And I only today hear one brief report on that when the country should be screaming bloody murder about it. Incredible.

Next… I realized talking to some people the other night that many if not most Americans do not know that the Bush regime changed the bankruptcy laws last year. Now if you declare bankruptcy all of your debts are wiped away EXCEPT debt to credit card companies, which you must still pay off even if it takes the rest of your life.

This new law was brought in just months after the credit companies gave hundreds of millions of dollars in re-election campaign contributions to Washington politicians.

Incredible.
