We remembered when
I’d like to thank all my former classmates who made the 30th reunion for the Aspen High School classes of 1976-77 such a great success. The reunion was held Sept. 14-15. Thanks, Jeanne (Culver) Doremus, Brenna (Beck) Mitchell and Heather (Gallagher) Preusch, Robin (Gallagher) VanDomelen, and everyone else who gave of their time and energy for this incredible weekend of fun and memories. Thanks to Shlomo’s for a great place to meet. Thanks to John and Pam Fisher and Ruth Harrison for still being there for us. Thanks, too, to the folks at AHS who allowed us on the field at half-time of the annual homecoming game to sing the school song. We’ve still got the spirit, yes we do!
Aspen has changed a lot in 30 years, but time hasn’t erased the great memories we all have of attending school in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Even better, all the bad memories seem to have faded away. We’ve all been humbled just enough by this time in life to appreciate people for who they are. No more cliques, no more clashes. Just a bunch of midlifers happy to see each other and glad to be alive. To all who couldn’t make it, hope to see you at the 40-year reunion, if not sooner.
