We can share the trail

Dear Editor:

A special thanks to the terrific hikers and backpackers we met while riding horseback on the Maroon-Snowmass Trail today (Thursday).

Everyone was courteous and understood how we could ensure each others’ safety. Smiles were plentiful all around. And several groups even had their dogs leashed! Surely Snowmass Lake will play host tonight to many conscientious outdoor enthusiasts.

We can share the National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, and Wilderness experiences. Just takes common sense, knowledge, and consideration. All of us are so fortunate to be able to live or visit here … and it was only 75 degrees at 1 p.m.
