Washington’s buddy system

Dear Editor:Scooter gets a bye.The double standard of this government becomes more evident every day. Let’s see, if I were caught lying to a grand jury or any judicial system authority I would be tried and sentenced and sent packing off to jail. There would not be any questions. But there is one set of laws in this country for the elite and one set of laws for the rest of us. Ah yes, the buddy system: In Washington you can break any laws or lie to everyone if you have the right connections. Just ask Scooter. He did the unthinkable, leaked a CIA operative name to the press, dastardly on his part. But in steps, that knucklehead we call our president and says his sentence was too excessive. WHAT?!This is what has become of Washington. The buddy system do or say what you want. You are part of the elite; the secret society rules do not apply to you. After all this is what you bought and paid for. Privileged, with your own rules, the puppet will bail you out, all you have to do is pull his strings. And for the rest of us, make sure you let no crime go unpunished. After all, without laws we will have chaos.Maybe it’s time for just that, a little chaos. The revolution starts now!Russ DeckerCarbondale
