Wake up now
February 19, 2004
In 1960, the first year I was eligible to vote, I cast my ballot for John F. Kennedy, “because he was so cute.”
Here’s hoping today’s young people have better reasons for their choices, but are not so jaded that they think it doesn’t matter if they vote or who they vote for.
A local group I’m part of, Wake Up Now, is sponsoring an essay/ political cartoon/ video contest with big prizes (First prize ” $1000) for young adults (18-25) living in the Roaring Fork Valley (from Aspen to Rifle).
If you qualify, please see details at http://www.wakeupnow81623.org/. If you know someone who qualifies, please let them know about this contest.
