Wagner Park to close temporarily starting Wednesday, April 13

Staff report

Wagner Park will be temporarily closed to the public starting Wednesday, April 13, through early May, the city of Aspen announced this week.

The date for reopening will depend on weather and turf conditions. The city is closing the park to facilitate and protect the beginning of the growing season.

“While a closure is unavoidable in early spring, the closure is dramatically reduced from past years where the field was out of commission from mid-March through late June,” the city said in a statement. “With the recent installation of a new irrigation system and a complete field renovation, the city has achieved shorter closure times and higher quality turf.”
