What are you doing to save money now that the economy is tanking?
I’m taking the bus from Glenwood Springs to Aspen, and that’s saving me about $400 a month, since I drive a V8.
I’m spending less on discretionary items ” all the things you don’t really need, like entertainment and travel.
I made soup ” a huge pot of pea soup, freeze it in small containers, and then I can thaw it out and eat it. It’s really good soup, too.
I’m not eating out as much. That means I’m cooking for myself more, and that’s bad news, isn’t it?
We’re here for an American Public Transportation Association conference, because it’s offseason here, which means it’s cheaper. Otherwise we never would have come to Aspen. Also, we’re encouraging people to take public transportation, which is cheaper and helps the environment.

I bought my daughter some UGG boots here and shipped them home because they’re more expensive where we live. It’s probably the only thing that’s cheaper here.
